Ruth’s Halva & Tehina cookies

Where I come from Tehina (sesame paste) and Halva (based on sesame) are very common… I call those Ruth’s cookies because my mom (Ruth) adore Tehina and Halva (separately of course) those cookies combine both Tehina and Halva…

recipe for about 40 cookies (double – like in the picture)

Ingredients:

For the cookies: For the stuffing:
7 ounces of butter
4 table spoons of raw tehina
2 1/2 cups of white flour
6 table spoons of halva paste
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 tea spoon of white sugar
1 yolk (from a fresh egg)

1 ounce of vanilla sugar

2 table spoons of corn flour

1 tea spoon of vanilla extract

1/4 cup of milk

Preparations:

1. mix the butter, sugar, flour and vanilla extract until you get a crumble mixture

2. add the rest of the ingredients and mix until you get a smooth dough

3. put the dough in the fridge for about an hour

4. beat flat the dough to 0.2 inch (0.5cm) and wink out the shapes you would like to have

5. put into a preheated oven to 338 F (or 170C) for about 10 minutes (until the cookies are stable)

let’s make the stuffing:

mix all the ingredients to a smooth mixture, put into a decoration bag and decorate the cookies (like in the picture) after they come out of the oven
